Here is the twenty-first installment of Terminator – The Sarah Connor Chronicles fanfic that picks up where the second season finale left off. As I mentioned before, I was so enthusiastic about the possibilities presented when the season ended that I just had to keep it going regardless of what happens with the suits at FOX.
The first thing you’ll probably notice is that I changed the name of the series to Terminator: The Connor Wars. I think that more accurately conveys what this project will cover as well as it being a lot easier to say.
As I disclaim on the title page, this is just meant to be a bit of fannish fun in the long spirit of the various fan communities. I’m not intending to step on any toes.
Battle of Avila Beach, Part 2
John’s Big Damn Battle for Serrano concludes. Will Skynet crush Connor, or will John cement his reputation?
(With the size it is, and if it didn’t do it automagically, the PDF seems to read easier if you zoom to 66.7% and then scroll the text horizontally so it’s centered.)
Previous episode: F0321 – “Battle of Avila Beach, Part 1″
Next episode: F0322 – “No One Is Ever Safe”
Oh, and before I get emails about this. The PDF file I generated has the setting to allow people to print out the script turned off. If you are having trouble with the plug-in, click here.

The early bird catches the worm!
Cons: It’s sunday morning and I’m at work. Again.
Pros: I’ve got something to read&enjoy!
Can’t belive there is only one to go.
It’s not over yet, but I’m sad already.
With absence of any positive news from PTB behind franchise this project was like a bright light in the Kingdome of Darkness. I’m certain thanks is not enogh, but Thank You.
Hi CJ,
So John has the power plant now, but what has Brandi done? Booby trap?
At least John is being careful and staying back until Catherine shows up.
With the radios jammed , does this mean anything else Skynet does will go on without John’s forces being warned? They could be sitting ducks.
Is Brandi planning a counter attack now? ( Kirk and Khan scenario? )
With Cameron going to rescue Allison…..if her jaw dropped and she went “oh no” , well , I think something bad has happened.
Has Allison been beaten to within an inch of her life? Is she dead?
Has Skynet made another Cameron?
Cameron, normally being robotic, I found it shocking she would react in the way that she did, when she went “oh no”. Is this possibly a sign of her taking on more human traits?
Does Cameron feel like it was necessary for her to rescue Allison? To me it would seem illogical to waste so much to rescue one person…….unless….Cameron regards Allison as a friend, or Cameron knows Allison is of great importance to John , or the resistance.
All in all a great episode !!
Sometimes hard to follow the battles, but , I feel necessary to create the proper atmosphere for the story.
I really wish something bad would happen to Brandy/Khan !! she is such a cocky bitch….lol.
As long as John/Kirk , or Cameron/Spock? , get to kill Brandy I’ll be happy !!
Can’t wait until #22
Moe
itypograf, all good things have to end at some point. But what if… it is not the time yet?
Moe, Cameron possibly regards Allison as a friend or as a member of a “family”. It may be a tad more complicated, she’s been prototyped on Allison in the previous timeline and that may play a role in her relationship with Allison. Also, she knows or came to the conclusion that people matter (nixed John’s idea about killing Proctors).
Else, purdy astute guess work.
Season’s end isn’t story end. Still a few more to go — hopefully with everything staying on the same release schedule.
Cameron’s reaction sort of harkens back to “Mr. Ferguson…” (S0208) when Cameron commented on how “I can’t let anything happen to [John],” that gave even Derek pause. That episode showed that Cameron definitely has those emotions if the initiator is strong enough. With having spent time actively learning how to be Allison, it’s reasonable to conclude that those lessons will have had an effect on her emotional development. (Also, keep in mind, this wasn’t an expressively big “oh no”. It’s still in the subtle Cameron range, but genuine, not affected.)
As for the battles…yeah, stuffing seven battle sites does make things confusing…hence the superimposed location clues. As I think I mentioned in the previous ep’s comments, and as Moe pointed out, the jumble itself was part of the story. This was a BIG offensive. It wasn’t Palisades. It wasn’t the Ports. This was a major territory and facility grab…one that could very easily have been lost–and probably would have if not for one nuclear sub loaded with missiles captured from Skynet’s arsenal.
I’m sure the characters are eager for me to give them a break by this time. Who knows…I might even let them have one.
Or not.
Will you please make sure. Will You Please Make Sure? WILL YOU PLEASE MAKE SURE?!
Yes. It is safe.
Why do I feel like Dustin Hoffman all of a sudden?
CJ
Have you tried selling this to a network? This is really good stuff! I just barely got done reading all of the episodes and am very impressed with your work. I love how you have tied in the previous seasons and kept with the storyline.
I just have on question, is Brandi really Riley?
Aubree
Thanks for the kind words. I enjoy writing this for y’all.
Because of the weird status fanfic has, all I can really do is write it and post it. Scuttlebutt is that TPTB are aware of it, but I have no idea if it goes beyond just being aware of it. I don’t even know what/who TPTB are in this case.
Brandi is Sarkissian’s daughter (the girl in “What He Beheld” 1st season finale). John was nice to her. Derek scared the homework out of her, and Sarah told her to go to her daddy. (And then John killed her daddy…but that’s another episode.) Brandi definitely has issues when it comes to the Connors.
Oh ok, do we ever get to see Riley?
I wonder about that, too. Honestly, I still don’t know.
Hi CJ,
I know its not over yet, but I just want to say how much I have enjoyed The Connor Wars. For me it has fulfilled the promise and continued where TSCC S2E22 ‘Born to Run’ left off.
You have written a great Sci-Fi story, and I accept your comments; and John Connor’s (page 11 “Battle of Avila Beach, part 1”) that this is not a soap opera; so don’t worry I’m not going to go there.
History has taught us that winning the war is only half the battle and that what to do after the victory is just as important.
John is a student of history and is well aware that mankind’s rivalries contributed to the rise of Skynet, and if victorious he will not wish to repeat the mistake and return to the previous status quo.
Following the war there would be many groups; resistance humans, Skynet humans (greys), resistance cyborgs, Skynet cyborgs, T1000’s (assuming there will be more Catherines), and of course Endos.
There would need to be re-education, re-programming, but most of all reconciliation, and friendship between the ‘species’. Not just between John and a certain cyborg lady, I’m not going to mention the “J” word, but right across the board, and that would be a pretty good place to start.
I hope that E22 and the scripts, which follow, will not be the end of the story and that you could be persuaded to write more, but in the meantime thank you as always for keeping the dream alive, and for including us in your journey.
