WPS 2008 General Draft Results

On Monday, October 6, 2008, the Women’s Professional Soccer league (WPS) held its general draft for players not yet selected in the WNT player allocation or the International Player Draft. The draft consisted of four rounds, with the teams picking in pre-chosen random order (notwithstanding traded picks), with the pick order of rounds 2-4 being the reverse of the previous round. Here are the results:

Quick thoughts: The teams are building up their defenses. The thing that really jumps out? The Washington Freedom sticks close to home. Considering they were the WUSA’s last champion, and the current W-League champs, perhaps it’s with good reason?
