2009 WNBA Draft – Last Thoughts Before the Draft

Now, having seen the players playing outside of their conferences at season’s end, as well has having more information concerning WNBA team needs, and factoring the comments from around the web about my previous post, I’d agree that my previous list needs some tweaking.

TTSCC – The Peanuts Effect

When an ensemble is formed, the creators have certain specific ideas about who is important and who isn’t. Amazingly, the audience doesn’t always hold to those views, and prefer to choose for themselves who are the key characters. As many fans of Terminator – The Sarah Connor Chronicles hold to the idea that the breakout character is Cameron, so too have fans made their picks in the past.

TTSCC Characters in Scene Counts thru Season 2

Something that comes up on various forums a lot is how often some characters are appearing on the show. For Terminator – The Sarah Connor Chronicles, there has been a fair amount of debate about whether some characters are getting short-shrift when it comes to screen time.

T:TSCC 0220 – To the Lighthouse

The end of the season 2 roller coaster ride of revelations and implications continues with “To the Lighthouse”. In a departure from much of season 2, this episode gave us not only coordinated attacks against John and the rest of the Connor Cadre, but also an attempt on the life of John Henry by another “sibling” A.I.

Valerie Bertinelli in Her Striking Bertinellikini

This week’s People magazine has a cover that many of us in our late 40s never thought we’d see again: Valerie B in a flattering green Bertinellikini. I mean, holy-wow-Batman. Some of us have been wow’d by the woman for decades. Even so…wow.

Improving Foul Shot Distractions

One aspect of basketball games really bugs me: the amateurish attempts to distract foul shooters. It’s shameful how a partisan crowd, especially university crowds, are unable to get their act together to enact some sort of coordinated plan to distract opponent foul shooters. Shameful.

T:TSCC 0219 – Today Is The Day, Part 2

As a vehicle to let us see John Connor (finally), this was the episode. The story itself tied up a lot of loose ends, helped confirm and deny fan speculations, but most of all it revealed, for the first time, that John is bigger than the events he has to deal with.

Tiered Tournament Brackets

I’ve never been a fan of conventional tournament brackets. They are essentially set up as coronation runs for the top seed.I think the best course is a little bit of “favored nation” combined with a bit of randomness to make things interesting. I suggest a tiered system.

First Thoughts – 2009 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament

The Bracket has been announced. The question is, will this be a coronation of UConn, or will someone be able to rise up to stop their run? Overall, I think this has been the fairest bracket in recent memory, but it does seem that the Trenton region (UConn’s) is a bit easier than the other three. Still, upsets await the unwary.

T:TSCC 0218 – Today Is The Day, Part 1

It’s a pain to review the first part of a two-part episode because, by direct inference, you don’t know how it winds up. With the Terminator – The Sarah Connor Chronicles episode, “Today Is The Day, Part 1” (0218), we follow several story threads that beg for various degrees of resolution.

TTSCC Scenes I’d Like to See (Part 5) – Veritas

In the season 2 episode, “Ourselves Alone”, John has a confrontation with Riley. John gives Riley one last opportunity to confess her secrets to him. This scene is the result of asking what if Sarah hadn’t broken the mood John had set up? What if Riley actually abandoned the lies?
