Star Trek Memories

I’ve had Star Trek be a part of my life since 1967. I was in elementary school at the time. Though I didn’t quite latch on to the series when it started, by the end of the first season I was hooked. Who knew that 42 years later, I’d still be talking about it?

Full Prices, Please

Even if we don’t admit it, at some point just about everyone with a television will watch one of the 1/2-hour product infomercials. You can’t help it. They suck you in. The thing I hate is how they subtly suck your wallet.

The Connor Wars F0301 – “A Thousand Miles”

Here is the first installment of Terminator – The Sarah Connor Chronicles fanfic that picks up where the second season finale left off. I was so enthusiastic about the possibilities presented when the season ended that I just had to keep it going regardless of what happens with the suits at FOX.

2009 WNBA Pre-Training Camp Quick Thoughts

This is going to be one wacky preseason in the WNBA. I’d expect that in the coming weeks there is going to be a lot of player movement as marketable players get waived due to the 11-man roster as well as cap issues.

Great Lena Headey Interview

Here is an interview of Lena done on the Brunch With Bridget show which is perhaps one of the most entertaining interviews I’ve seen in a while. The interview is done on a bed and…well, not to give too much away, but here are two key words: pillow fight.

R-S-Ay-yi-yi

One of the downsides of me living by the keyboard is the fact that sometimes I die by the keyboard. By this I mean: sometimes I’m at the keyboard so long, and so often, that my body starts to say, “Stop being at the keyboard, you idiot!” Yep, that tired old bugaboo — RSI (Repetitive Stress Injury).

Will Ayla’s Adventure Ever Conclude?

I’ve been a long-time fan of Jean M. Auel’s Earth Children series of books: The Clan of the Cave Bear (1980); The Valley of Horses (1982); The Mammoth Hunters (1985); The Plains of Passages (1990); and The Shelters of Stone (2002). As this was supposed to be a hexalogy, and we currently only have five published titles, the question many fans have been asking is: “When will the 6th book be coming out?”

Was It Easier Being a Kid?

I was watching some children in the neighborhood playing. Some were doing something with a ball. Others (this was weird) were sitting at the curb texting. Now, while I’m happy that they are apparently at least somewhat literate, at least enough for texting, I couldn’t help but wonder if something gets lost?

I Want a DVR to Die For

I love DVRs. They shame VCRs. Unfortunately, almost all DVRs come with shortcomings. That’s unfortunate since they could be, in the words of Barney Stinson, “Legen–wait for it–dary”. If I were able to get the one that I want, this is the one that I want.
