Writing New CJCS WordPress Themes

On my websites, I try to focus much more on content than the facade. Don’t get me wrong — I do think presentation is important. Generally speaking, though, once I have a satisfying theme set up I’m not apt to make any significant changes for a while. It seems that the time for change is nigh.

The Wheatons are Game

I’ve never been much of a gamer, but Wil Wheaton’s enthusiasm is…um…enthusing. Wil, you see, *is* a gamer. Together with his wife, Anne, they fight the never ending battle for truth, justice, and a 19 or 20.

Grasping For Sanity in a Nation Gone Mad

I’ve written a number of articles that haven’t been put out for public consumption. You see, when the world goes mad, it can be like a minefield when you try to shine a light on it. You are never completely sure when you might take a wrong step and have everything blow up in your face. And yet, silence isn’t a viable option.

Rob Reid: The $8 billion iPod (TED)

Writing Doldrums – Overwhelmed by the Crazy

I’m in a bit of writing doldrums. It’s not because I’ve run out of words or ideas. It fact, it’s sort of the opposite: I have so much I want to say, but with my self-filter on (something increasingly rare in the general populace, it seems) I end up saying nothing. I’m trying to find a way out of that.

Why Does CJ Wear Glasses?

Eyeglasses are a marvelous invention. When they are matched to one’s own eyes, the results can be nothing but spectacular (which is related to “spectacle” which leads us to “eyeglasses”…language is nifty like that). My life would be so different without these wondrous bits of glass/plastic.

My Causes

There is only just so much time in a life, and there are more than enough causes for several lifetimes. Out of necessity, we pick and chose the battles we are the most willing to fight…even (or perhaps especially) if a winning outcome is not assured. These are mine.

Government, Spaceflight, Spinoffs, and People

To the outside observer, it seems like the U.S. Government treats the funding of NASA with the same care and understanding as they do the United States Postal Service. The outside observer would be wrong; it’s not handled nearly as well. And the USPS is going bankrupt…so that sort of gives you an idea of how bad the problem is.
