Supermarkets start bagging self-serve checkouts (AP)

This trend is sad news indeed. There are rarely enough check-outs open and many of them are slow. I still have to un-cart, sometimes bag, and then re-cart my items. Except for the scanning, I’m self-serving anyway—without the slowdown of even-older-folk who love writing their checks or are confused by the card scanner (these lovely people usually avoid self-serve).
