You Meet Some Cool Tweeple

Twitter is an interesting place. At first glance it seems just to be little more than in-public text messaging…which it is. What makes it special is that in the course of following, being followed, clicking links, and reading re-tweets you find out a lot about people… excuse me, “tweeple”.

I’ve been fortunate in my life to have known enough people in various walks of life that celebrity in and of itself just doesn’t impress me. Even so, I’ll follow some celebs I don’t happen to know as a result of following links and whatnot. And that is how I ended up signing up to follow Alyssa Milano.

Obviously I’ve enjoyed watching Ms Milano in Who’s the Boss, Charmed, etc. I’ve thus known of her for years. And that’s pretty much all I know of her: the work she has done. So…reading her tweets over some time I’ve come to realize that she’s pretty cool. She treats fans well, is globally aware, loves her baseball (as do many female actors), and other sundry kudos. I get so used to reading her words that when an image is posted, I am amazed every time at how gorgeous this woman is–even in a cell-phone photo.

That’s when I knew that I was as fortunate as her other 123,000+ followers. To know that the the mind and character of a woman is so engrossing that you totally forget to make note of what she looks like. A woman like that must be paid attention to.
