Rec’ing on…Quick Survivor Micronesia Thoughts

The new Survivor edition, "Fans vs Faves" is going to be airing in a couple of hours. I find that I’m actually looking forward to it. Of course, this is spurred in large part by one of the contestants.

Ami Cusack made my list of favorite survivors after her performance in Vanuatu. Save for one mistake, I think she could have won it…just as I think she can win here. The key, other than a little luck, is getting into the right alliance. If she can align with Yau-Man, Ozzie, and Amanda (or Parvati), I think she can give herself the opportunity.

I think the other three balance out Ami’s strengths and weaknesses. Yau-Man is a thinker, but sometimes he over-thinks. Ozzie is the muscle. Amanda/Parvati are each good as middlemen…not so clever as to be strategic threats, but not so naïve as to blow a well-constructed plan.

The fly in the Faves ointment is, of course, Jonny Fairplay…quite possibly the most odious of past survivors. If they can ditch him early, then I think the Faves have a decent shot a doing OK. The longer he’s in the game, the longer the odds for a Fave to win. No tears will be shed here if Fairplay makes a quick exit.

I’m not predicting a winner and I have no (none, nada, nichts) inside knowledge. I’m just saying…Ami winning = cool; Fairplay losing big-time = big smile.
