Argh…Trolling Womens Sports

As the WNBA season winds down, more and more trolls seem to come out of the forum woodwork. You know the ones I mean. As the WNBA season winds down, more and more trolls seem to come out of the forum woodwork. You know the ones I mean. Those "enlightened" individuals who have nothing better to do with their lives than to jump into forums of sports (womens sports) that they profess to loathe, and then spew about how (name womens sports franchise or league here) aren’t talented enough, or don’t attract the crowds of (equivalent mens sports contest), or that since the participants have a socket instead of a plug that they have less worth overall.

To all you misogynist (oh…sorry about that big word… that means you don’t like women) idiots: get a life.

You don’t like womens sports? Fine. Just ignore them. But you can’t, can you? You feel threatened. What is it about women striving for excellence that scares you so much? That they won’t need you? Guess what…judging by your attitude, no–they really don’t need you. I mean, who’d want you, anyway? You think that a two-minute news story on a WNBA finals game on SportsNewsCenterDesk will drastically reduce the 36 thousand hours a day of repeated baseball coverage shown on your sports network? Take a bathroom break if it ties your colon in a knot so much.

The funny thing is, the women have done nothing to hurt the tiny subset of sports you love. You scream Title IX has ruined things, but football, basketball, and baseball programs haven’t really been affected. It’s men’s gymnastics and wrestling and all the other men’s sports that you don’t watch and shout against just as vehemently as you do the women’s sports.

I hope all y’all’s venom is purely academic and that you do better by your daughters, wives, sisters, and mothers in real life. If not, then I just feel sorry for you because you are missing out. You don’t like women’s sports? Fine. Like I said, ignore them and shut up on the fan forums. If you want to spew in your own blog — feel free. Personally, I think you’re missing out on some of the currently most entertaining (and closer to the roots) exhibitions of sport — regardless of sport.
