Painting Indenture Ends
Yippee! I’m done with painting the house (for now). I didn’t get nearly as much done as I’d hoped when I started. I had hoped to paint all the trim and all the walls. I totally underestimated how long everything would take. As it is, I got all the trim on both sides of the house and the back (scraping, sanding, primer, two coats of paint). The biggest problem came from the landscape obstacles. Between the pyracantha and the heat exchanger on one side, to the too-close-to-the-house sheds on the other, to the patio awning too close to the eave to make it easily paintable in the back, it all simply took too much time. (Add in my father’s barely-better-than-uselessness, and you have a recipe for slowness.)
But like I said, I’m done for now. The weather’s gotten too warm for what the manufacturers specify for their paints. That means that I get to give my body a little bit of a break as I try to merge myself back into the usual silliness. My right knee, especially, is extremely happy that we’ve reached this stage.
So, now it’s on to regular chores and the thing I’ve most been looking forward to….getting back to art!
