Tedium Break
My life follows a fairly predictable pattern: practice the tedium of living day-to-day, and then have a burst of newness. It seems I’ve recently been caught up in one of those bursts of newness.
The first whoa moment came a couple of days ago as I was tolling with my in-progress novel (still in development). I had a major story problem in the middle of the thing, and I didn’t know how to get it going. Then WHAM! I’m thrown for a loop when a Muse kisses me. Yes, I found the last piece of my story’s puzzle, and for that I’m very grateful, but the experience left me rather shaken. Not for the faint of heart.
The next day I get a call from a former boss of mine offering me a part-time job as a photographer and airbrush-tattooist. I met with her, and I agreed to give it a try. It actually sounds like it might be fun.
Oh yeah, and I put up a preview web site for some friends to test before I make it public. Then this morning I have to tend to the air-conditioner maintenance guy. Fun. So, all in all, these past few days have certainly managed to put a break in my oft-hoped-for tedium.
