Women’s World Cup: bigger, better – but still treated as the poor relation | The Guardian
The prize money is a tiny sliver of what the men get – and games have been played on artificial turf. Should Fifa divert more money to the women’s game?

There are some ways we can help.
First, support your local club teams if you live near one, e.g. NWSL in the United States, Frauen-Bundesliga in Germany, etc.
Second, write to the corporate sponsors (Nike, Adidas, etc.) and let them know — money talks and seems to be the only language FIFA understands.
Third, be vocal about your support of women’s soccer/football/futbol and other women’s sports — you don’t have to be a rabid fan OF the sport to want fair treatment economically, with facilities, and in the press.
Fourth, give thumbs up to male celebs and athletes who demonstrate their continued support.
Fifth, for your daughters, sisters, girlfriends, and strangers you’ve never met who want the freedom to play the beautiful game (or any sport — sometimes risking their lives), don’t block their way.
