Giving the Creative a Break

What is creativity? Where does it come from? Is it fair to put all of that responsibility on the shoulders of a mere mortal?

Here’s a talk by Elizabeth Gilbert (Feb 2009) on the source of creativity (19:29):

What do I think about this? I thank the Musae every day. I have no illusion that all the words that I commit are mine. Sure, I’m left to tread water from time-to-time, but it’s likely all in the cause of making certain I stay humble. So to Clio, Thalia, Calliope, Urania, Terpsichore, Euterpe, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, and Erato (and, if the rumors are true, Psappho): my continued thanks and gratitude.
