As most of you know by now, the premiere of my fanfic series that is sort of like a season 3 for Terminator – The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been written and was posted this week (here). I’ve been very pleased at the numbers I’ve been seeing and the messages that have been sent. If you’ve enjoyed it, please feel free to pass the word (or link, as the case may be), or add your voice to the forum. As much as I’m enjoying writing these stories, they are, after all, meant for y’all.
You’ll be happy to know that episode two, “Tempest Tossed” is currently out of outline and is being written. I’m trying to have it finished and posted before FOX’s upfronts on May 18, but it’s tight enough that I might not make it if the first draft of this script ends up seven pages short like the episode 1 first draft did. We’ll see.
The next two scripts (eps 3 and 4) are tentatively scheduled to be:
F0303 – “I’ll See You Around, Connor”
F0304 – “Without a Scorecard”
Of the 22 planned episodes, I have a good idea of what I want to happen in 18 of them. For the other four…well something’s bound to come up. (It better. One of those episodes is #5, so I need to figure something out with that soon.)
As I was breaking the current script, I stumbled across a continuing story thread that I’m going to be incorporating into the season. It will feature a character that you know from TSCC, and that character is going to be a surprising hero…mythic, in fact. I can’t hardly wait to see how it plays out.
As a writer, this has been a really fun ride so far. Developing and expanding on an already fascinating and textured universe is a very enjoyable way to spend one’s free time. I highly recommend it.
Anyway, I just wanted to give you an update and thank you for reading the first installment. Time now to get back to the actually writing bit.
